Teething Toothday

(How cute are these vintage shoes?)

Happy Tuesday With Sophie The Giraffe

The twins have been showing symptoms of teething for awhile now - a whole lot of drooling over in our house. A majority of babies get their first teeth between 4-7 months, so any day now we expect to see some pearly whites. Teeth break through over a period of months, generally in order-but not always. The first teeth usually are the bottom middle-central incisors and then the following erupt: upper central incisors, upper/lower lateral incisors, upper/lower first molar, upper/lower canines and then lower second molars.   By the time a child is 3 they should have all 20 primary teeth.

Symptoms can be fussiness, gum swelling, sleep problems and gnawing or chewing.

Some tips to help soothe the pain:
  • Provide safe objects for your baby to chew on such as Sophie the Giraffe or Sophie Teether
  • Gently rub baby's gums with a cold wash cloth
  • Let baby chew on a cold teething ring
  • Call your doctor if baby's symptoms are severe or don't get better
The twins love Sophie the Giraffe and Sophie Teether.  In the early stages it was easier for them to grab onto the rings of the teether and now they can hold onto both very easily. (Sophie the Giraffe does have a squeaky noise so our pomeranian attempts to take it as her own) These products are both easy to grasp, soft, flexible, made from 100% natural rubber and BPA free.
